The Big Love Foundation is set up to use music and
the arts to come to the aid of those who otherwise have
no means to find their way out of tough times, whether
they're because of a natural disaster,
accident, or unfortunate twist of fate. There are no
strings attached to the Big Love Foundation, no party or
religious affiliations. Just love.
So when you need help, get in touch and we will work
with you to set up a concert or series of
concerts and/or events to raise funds
and awareness through music, arts, and the love in
people's hearts to help as best we can in the recovery
and healing process. My hope is that by doing so we will
all learn a little bit more about each other and learn
that giving love in its many forms in a selfless way is
the greatest gift of all.
Recently we have been
working to raise funds for the victims of the tornado that struck and
destroyed the high school in Enterprise, Alabama earlier this year. You
know that when winter is cold, children need coats; when summer is hot, the elderly
need air conditioning; the battered and abused always need a safe place to
sleep; and with a little love, we can all make a difference. If you have
a need to raise awareness or funds for a wonderful cause to help another
human being in need, go to the Contact Page and let's see how we can make
it happen.
What I would really like
for you to think about is this: when people are in need it's like a cut
or a wound, so the funds we raise for that person in need is like a
Band-Aid. It covers the wound, but it is love that is the antiseptic, the
thing that — when applied regularly and with great care —
helps the wound to heal. So I hope the Big Love Foundation can help with
the healing and assist people to become part of a better way to give of
themselves and help others heal...selflessly, honestly, earnestly.
Love always,
Ed Keith

HANDLEBAR TORNADO BENEFIT FOR ENTERPRISE, ALA. feat. Fayssoux McLean & Brandon Turner, Brad Davis & Dan Miller, Will McFarlane, and Eddie Keith
This
gathering at the Handlebar was not your run-of-the mill
benefit show. The cast of players assembled for this
special cause is steeped in talent and tradition, and
all came together from different places to benefit a
worthy cause.
Eddie and Will opened the show with a set of rousing,
high-energy roots music from Eddie’s new record. Brad
and Dan put on a show of amazing flat-picking. Will came
on and delivered soulful vocals and deep blues guitar.
And then came Fayssoux and Brandon…music you just have
not witnessed in years, beautiful, tight vocal
harmonies, and Brandon’s smoking-hot guitar work. The
show ended with all the players assembled on the stage,
culminating with Will and Fayssoux leading an emotional
and electrifying rendition of Amazing Grace.
Brad
Davis has spent years on the road with the likes of
Marty Stuart, Earl Scruggs and Billy Bob Thornton. Will
McFarlane toured with Bonnie Raitt for six years. Eddie
Keith has shared the stage with Shawn Mullins and Col.
Bruce Hampton. Spartanburg’s own Fayssoux McLean has
provided harmony vocals on many of the works of Emmylou
Harris. You get the point: this show was filled with
acoustic guitar-slinging goodness and amazing vocals.
When you have the opportunity to see any of these folks
it will be well worth your time, as each is great, and
together in any combination they are amazing.
Proceeds will benefit the Enterprise, Alabama high
school that was destroyed in the March 1 tornado which
killed eight students and damaged another 731 structures
in its 10-mile swath.
